SARAH ANDERSON - JEWELLER

I LIVE IN A GLORIOUS PART OF NORTH WALES ON THE EDGE OF THE SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK, AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE WHAT A STRONG INSPIRATION THIS IS IN MY WORK.

About:

I have been making silver jewellery from my workshop in Snowdonia since 2000. Some of my designs however date back to the seventies when I was teaching in London and attended night school with Rod Edwards an Australian Jeweller. I also learnt a great deal from Rauni Higson a jeweller and silversmith from Talysarn.

I now try to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm for jewellery making and silversmithing to others by running jewellery making classes from my workshop.

During 2009 I made crown for the National Eisteddfod. This was a wonderful commission and the repercussion from making it has been a new direction away from geometric designs to more fluid, organic work. In 2011 I got asked to make the crown for the Welsh student union’s eisteddfod, which I have just completed. I am a member of the Gwynedd and Clwyd Craftworkers Association and the Wales Craft Council.
